Surface Design Conference:

Well, next week Thursday June 6, this conference starts in (hopefully) sunny San Antonio (USA).
Sadly to say only very few international (oversea) members signed up (9 in total) which I feel is very disappointing. What to say... I myself am flying next Monday via Houston to San Antonio arriving late afternoon. On wednesday I am taking the fiber tour, visiting 2 musea and Jane Dunnewold's studio. The conference days will be filled with meetings, visiting exhibitions (my favourite part), a trunkshow and a vendors' market, but also demonstrations and lectures. I am really looking forward to be part of this.

After the conference I am taking a 2-day E-textiles workshop with Lynne Bruning. This is very exciting as well. A good idea maybe to invite Lynne to come to Tilburg and teach the same overhere.

Upcoming Events

Well, the idea and intention to enter more and regular posts was good, except that I now notice I completely failed to do so for almost a year. Mostly due to personal circumstances I must admit.
So I will not promiss to become a regular blogger anymore.

My personal circumstances changed dramatically last December:
my husband passed away and I am sort of picking up the pieces right now after a year of struggling and fighting. I do hope I am forgiven. So far my personal news - now back to more pleasant news:

On 20 and 21 April this event will take place in Essen Belgium. There will be exhibitions, a few workshops and a vendor market.
15 suppliers will attend and offer materials and books related to (art)quilting, felting and mixed media.
Zijdelings will take part as well, and Gil De Vloo will be demonstrating for me that weekend.

Also coming up, the 17th international Surface Design Conference, this time held in San Antonio (Texas/USA) from June 6 - 9 2013. This event is for members only and will include various very interesting lectures, demonstrations, exhibitions, a fashion show and also a vendor fair plus members'trunk show.

Being the EU representative I already entered my registration for the conference, the fiber study tour and one of the post conference workshops. Flight and hotel are also booked. SO - San Antonio here I come....are you joining me?? I do hope to see more Europeans than last time.
